I don't think this was tried anywhere else other than at the z/VM level. The x86 REDHAT folks loaded the ISO files to a HTTP server for us and we downloaded it from there. We used the PCOMM SEND/REC protocol first and then FTP to download to z/VM to no avail . So not sure how to tell if the source (At the ISO level) is corrupted or not? As I said previously, I think the ramdisk (INITRD) is corrupted. Note the "incomplete write". Whether is was corrupted on upload to VM, to your workstation, or at the source is TBD.
