I don't think this was tried anywhere else other than at the z/VM level. The 
x86 REDHAT folks loaded the ISO files to a HTTP server for us and we downloaded 
it from there. We used the PCOMM SEND/REC protocol first and then FTP to 
download to z/VM to no avail . So not sure how to tell if the source (At the 
ISO level) is corrupted or not?

It isn't the kernel since you can't see the kernel running.  As I said 
previously, I think the ramdisk (INITRD) is corrupted.  Note the "incomplete 
write".  Whether is was corrupted on upload to VM, to your workstation, or at 
the source is TBD.  If it were at the source, then everyone would have the same 
issue.
