Indeed I did take a look at the release notes. I didn't read there that PHP as 
such has been removed. If it was, it should have been listed in section 8.4. To 
me it looks like some modules will be removed but not all of PHP packages.

If this section indeed means that PHP is removed then the same should be true 
for Python. Python is included in the DVD.

But do you really mean PHP is either removed or to be removed? If that's the 
case then we have to move off Suse ASAP since our LAMP systems are based on PHP.

Please read the release notes.  Things like this get documented there.  In this 
case, Section 8 Packages and Functionality Changes, subsection 8.6 Modules.
