Hi All, We have an SLES11 SP1 machine configured with autofs to mount iso images. When a linux guest accesses the machine the isofile is mounted, after 1 minute the isofile is umounted.
Today the machine is migrated to SLES11 SP3. The autofs configuration is moved into the new machine so I would expect the guest to behave the same. When a directory is accessed the isofile is mounted, but now the directory is not umounted after the timeout is expired. When enough iso files are mounted we run out of loop devices and cannot access any new iso files. The timeout should be 60 seconds, but after 30 minutes we still see: The /var/log/messages shows the mount of the isofiles: Nov 19 10:56:00 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3 Nov 19 10:56:00 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A Nov 19 10:58:07 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3 Nov 19 10:58:07 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A Nov 19 10:58:07 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3 Nov 19 10:58:07 nlzlx113 kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A /etc # df … /dev/loop0 2014164 2014164 0 100% /srv/sources/SLES/SLES11_SDK /dev/loop1 3245946 3245946 0 100% /srv/sources/SLES/SLES11_3_DVD1 /dev/loop2 2140918 2140918 0 100% /srv/sources/SLES/SLES11_3_SDK /etc # lsof | grep sources automount 3416 root 9u FIFO 94,17 0t0 61176 /var/run/autofs.fifo-srv-sources-SLES automount 3416 root 10r DIR 0,18 0 17404 /srv/sources/SLES automount 3416 root 15u FIFO 94,17 0t0 61177 /var/run/autofs.fifo-srv-sources-RedHat automount 3416 root 16r DIR 0,19 0 17418 /srv/sources/RedHat automount 3416 root 21u FIFO 94,17 0t0 61179 /var/run/autofs.fifo-srv-sources-various automount 3416 root 22r DIR 0,20 0 17422 /srv/sources/various Why would the directory not be unmounted?
