<escape> followed by :q! doesn't work. I can't find anything that does. Obviously vi is unique (in many ways ...) I don't think you can IPL CMS if you've already booted z/Linux.
I may have found someone who has SSH access and am waiting for them to try and kill my vi process. But it would be useful to know how to get out of this via z/VM for future occasions!
