Thanks Chuck. I hear what you're saying about changes to OpenStack :) That's also a good hint on the XCAT1 disk pool. We are keeping an eye on the maintenance links you gave too, and have had to put a few on (e.g. for CMO).
I should also have mentioned this excellent Tutorial, which I think is still relevant: http://xcat.sourceforge.net/pdf/xCAT-UI-Tutorial.pdf Best regards Peter ____________________________________________ As others have mentioned; the xCAT_ISO parameter in DMSSICNF COPY contains volume ids that are placed into a DirMaint pool called XCAT1. The other DirMaint disk pools are created by the administrator to hold mini disks for provisioned systems. The "Systems Management Application Programming" and the "Enabling z/VM for OpenStack" documents have links to each other. The enabling book was created because OpenStack changes frequently. Pages 7, and 18, of the "Enabling z/VM for OpenStack" have a good explanations of XCAT1 DirMaint disk pool. Think of XCAT1 as a working area for xCAT; not a place for disks on provisioned systems .
