That's also a good hint on the XCAT1 disk pool.  We are keeping an eye on the 
maintenance links you gave too, and have had to put a few on (e.g. for CMO).

As others have mentioned; the xCAT_ISO parameter in DMSSICNF COPY contains
volume ids that are placed into a DirMaint pool called XCAT1.

The other DirMaint disk pools are created by the administrator to hold
mini disks for provisioned systems.

The "Systems Management Application Programming" and the "Enabling z/VM
for OpenStack" documents have links to each other. The enabling book was
created because OpenStack changes frequently.

Pages 7, and 18,  of the "Enabling z/VM for OpenStack" have a good
explanations of XCAT1 DirMaint disk pool. Think of XCAT1 as a working area
for xCAT; not a place for disks on provisioned systems .
