As I understand it, vmcp is no longer a kernel module. On booting a new
SLES 12 SP1 system I noticed the message:
modprobe: FATAL: Module vmcp not found.
I thought is was in one of our scripts, but it seems to be in boot.drsan:
# grep "modprobe vmcp" /etc/init.d/boot.*
grep: /etc/init.d/boot.d: Is a directory
/etc/init.d/boot.drsan:modprobe vmcp
It would be nice to eliminate this spurious error message. Is this a known
issue?
Thanks.
