Yes, (in my previous attempt at installing ClefOS) I installed a non-GUI
server...manually installed a number of packages....lynx, ftp, x3270,
tiger-vnc, gcc,...
The problem I ran into was that I couldn't find a way to manipulate (configure)
the firewall. The only references I found to firewall configuration was a GUI.
I then attempted to install X-Windows and got it working, but ran into the
LibreOffice installation problem.

Personally, I'd prefer to stay as a text-based server, but it appears that some
things are just easier via GUI (network modification...e.g. new adapter).

When I installed SLES 12, I had no problems installing the GUI server. So, I'm
a bit confused why this is becoming a chore with Red Hat 7/ClefOS.

Subject: Re: ClefOS - Server with GUI

Its failing due to LibreOffice ( an Office productivity suite ) and libpurple (
a sametime chat protocol library ) not being available, but they are getting
pulled in as dependancies of other packages when you select 'with GUI'

Do you want to run a full desktop environment on your Z system ? If not, you
can do a vanilla Server install and add on the X environment later with yum so
you can forward GUI displays to your workstation through the ssh tunnel.
