  Well thanks, but I think Connor's story is much more amazing because
"he's just a kid".  Lots of people have zSeries machines "at home".

  He also disassembled the machine to get it into a basement, and
reassembled it down there...and got it all back together properly.
Having never seen mainframe hardware before, aside from mine, and
certainly never performed any physical work on them.

  A "PU book" is what the rest of the world would call a "processor
module".  It's a biggish metal box containing a board that carries the
MCM and the memory module.  This plugs into the front of the machine,
behind the laptops, and into the system backplane.  Some larger zSeries
machines take multiple books, while the z890 takes only one.  Mine is
toast, making the machine a 2200lb paperweight.  If I can find another,
the machine will be able to run again.
