yeah ... odd Like Jay said, check your /etc/fstab. I notice that the error comes from devmapper and not from 'mount'. Maybe more messages (before and after) for better context and more clues? Perhaps there's a new (to me) relationship between devmapper and udev.
I've moved volumes which are mounted (in /etc/fstab) by label and by UUID many times w/o problems. In suck cases, we're talking about a label /in the filesystem/ or a UUID /in the filesystem/, not something tied with the hardware (virtual or real), so it just works. The HW identifier(s) I've seen have always been under /dev/disk/by-path or under /dev/disk/by-id. /That/ would be more likely to change when moving/cloning the guest. Anything embedded in the filesystem(s) should not change because of cloning or relocating the guest. (/dev/disk/by-label and /dev/disk/by-uuid) I hope this helps. -- R; <>< On 09/06/2016 12:11 PM, Robert J Brenneman wrote: > How are your devices mounted in /etc/fstab ? > > If you are using device UUIDs which are based on hardware tokens those will > change with the new clone since it is using different disk extents. > > On Tue, Sep 6, 2016 at 9:32 AM, Michael Weiner <[email protected]> > wrote: > >> Hi there >> >> Is there anything special that needs to be done when cloning a redhat >> guest?
