Regardless, I do like your comment :-). In the past years I got familiar with
SYSV and systemd is quite a different story, to say the least. I try to get
accustomed to it but it’s hard to see what's going on in it. I guess I'm not
the only one, I have seen some discussions regarding systemd on other lists as
well.

For now, I don’t like the fact that I can't easily see all configuration in one
location. Maybe I'm wrong but to me all things within /etc/init.d/ would be the
easiest to get the overview of what is executed during boot. I try to see what
is actually executed during boot but was unable to see it thus far. The same is
true for other packages as well, some also have various configurations around
the filesystem, that all get merged together. In such cases it's hard to see in
one go what the actual configuration is. It is logical (to a programmer that
is...), but for someone not all that deep into the subject at hard to grasp.

OTOH, I just rebooted the guest within a few seconds so it looks like the
systemd style indeed speeds up booting considerably.

Met vriendelijke groet/With kind regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Berry van Sleeuwen

I'm not advocating anything - just pointing out that apt-get is a Debian
(.deb) thing..
