LOL! We're just being silly, of course, while illustrating a point. When someone says, "on z/VM without Linux" the only pracitcal interpretation in 2017 is "on CMS". We are able to demonstrate the power of mainframe in that it CAN be used to simulate alien architectures, but the market for that functionality doesn't seem to have gelled quite yet in terms of software vendor certification and support. Mind you, it doesn't mean we don't need meds! :-) The fact that we can think up z System -> z/VM -> Linux -> BOCHS -> Windows -> Hercules -> ... is probably cause for concern and actually helps cement a place in the stack for Mantissa tech. Please keep us under observation with butterfly nets at the ready.
