This is a ClefOS 7.5 system: dasdfmt --help Usage: dasdfmt [OPTIONS] DEVICE
Use dasdfmt to format a DASD ECKD device for use by Linux. DEVICE is the node of the device (e.g. '/dev/dasda'). FORMAT ACTIONS -M, --mode MODE Specify scope of operation using MODE: full: Full device (default) quick: Only the first two tracks expand: Unformatted tracks at device end --check Perform complete format check on device FORMAT OPTIONS -b, --blocksize SIZE Format blocks to SIZE bytes (default 4096) -d, --disk_layout LAYOUT Specify the disk layout: cdl: Compatible Disk Layout (default) ldl: Linux Disk Layout -k, --keep_volser Do not change the current volume serial -l, --label VOLSER Specify volume serial number -L, --no_label Don't write a disk label -r, --requestsize NUM Process NUM cylinders in one formatting step --norecordzero Prevent storage server from modifying record 0 -y Start formatting without further user-confirmation DISPLAY PROGRESS -m, --hashmarks NUM Show a hashmark every NUM cylinders -p, --progressbar Show a progressbar -P, --percentage Show progress in percent MISC -C, --check_host_count Check if device is in use by other hosts -F, --force Format without performing sanity checking -t, --test Run in dry-run mode without modifying the DASD -v Print verbose messages when executing -h, --help Print this help, then exit -V, --version Print version information, then exit Frank M.
