Everything depends upon whether there is ONLY a single filesystem where, along with /boot, you also have /var and /tmp within to root file system.
This instance may not be able to successfully boot, so you may need to mount it from another instance (that'll be fun!) and then examine which directories may be overloaded. The way out, for the future? Allocate enough DASD to host /tmp, /usr. /var and /home, jst for starters, as additional mounted filesystems. (OK, so you'll have fun assembling your /etc/fstab ...) -soup On Sat, Sep 1, 2018 at 2:11 PM, Jake Anderson <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi > > One of our zlinux instance root file ran out of space. > > What will be procedure to expand ? > > Jake > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, > send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or > visit > http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > For more information on Linux on System z, visit > http://wiki.linuxvm.org/ > -- John R.
