Per IBM instructions, our Unix group is going to open an issue with SUSE. They
supposed to tell us which problem cause the guests go through a machine check
handling routine.

This is the console error

00: HCPGIR450W CP entered; disabled wait PSW 00020001 80000000 00000000 0010BF02

This is the System.map

000000000010bb08 T s390_do_machine_check
000000000010c01c T s390_handle_mcck

Neale:

I'm attaching one from a SLES11 SP4 guest - L258P and the other from a SLES12
SP3 - L21BT. I don't consider the previous messages been the culprit. I asked
our Unix team to take a look at the files you mentioned inside the guest.

Mark:

Checking the other vm's I found two more guest at the same time, stops . I open
an issue with IBM regarding this. Three are SLES 11 SP4 and one is with SLES 12
SP3 those are running under z/VM 6.4. Our Unix team are checking the info you
suggest.

No, but you might gain some insight into what part of the Linux kernel that
came from by looking at the /boot/System.map file that corresponds to the
kernel you were running. It's also possible that there are some messages in
the system log/journal just prior to that error.
