But imagine what you could do if an AF_INET/AF_INET6 provider could be configured to simply acts as a shim layer, redirecting all AF_INET and AF_INET6 socket calls to the VM TCPIP machine. Linux's own TCP/IP stack would be effectively inop. That would enable almost any Linux network app to work on behalf of VM. The possibilities are tantalizing.
