Hi David, We tested SNO on z/VM and it is in general working.
debugging without additional information will be tricky but here are some pointers where things might break: in the docs: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.15/installing/installing_sno/install-sno-installing-sno.html#installing-sno-on-ibm-z_install-sno-installing-sno-with-the-assisted-installer After you load the ocp installer it will start installation and after a while it will reboot on its own to load from the actual disk. When installing with bootstrap in place, currently it will lose the parmline during this reboot, resulting in errors because the system does not retain the network and disk configuration from the parmline. getting those back requires an additional manual reboot with your parmline provided as described in step 14 of the doc. Another workaround would be to not use the bootstrap in place, which requires an additional z/vm guest during installation which can be removed after installation, like in any other cluster installation. For additional help i would need to have a look at your parmfile and what errors you are facing. We have been attempting to get it up and running using the Red Hat documentation, but we keep running into walls, so I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get it working. -- David Vincent Software Engineer Velocity Software, Inc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@vm.marist.edu with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www2.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ----- End forwarded message ----- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@vm.marist.edu with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www2.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
