I agree with Alan... "still" looks like Linux on Z is legacy infrastructure, but it is not.
I support a few accounts, and they are not phasing down Linux, on the opposite. One just started a feasibility study on migrating DB2 workloads from zOS to Linux. Another account has so many Linux servers they installed IBM ICIC to allow the dev team to do auto-provisioning from themselves, while the zVM team manages resource pools, capacity planning, performance measurement, things like that. Creating and deleting guests is done by the end users themselves. Linux on Z have a lot of potential and several shops are using that potential.
