Tom Hugel asked: * Just wondering if anyone is running SLES15 SP7 in z/VM7.3.. * We're planning an upgrade from SLES15 SP4. We had SP7 and 7.3 for several months between when we upgraded from SP6 to SP7 and when we were able to get all our LPARs to 7.4. We didn’t have to do anything to the Linux guests. I don’t remember any excitement going from SP4 to 5 or 5 to 6, but I also don't remember what z/VM release(s) we were on then.
I don’t think you can upgrade SLES across more than one service pack boundary though. You may need to build new SP7 guests and migrate your apps. SP4->SP5->SP6->SP7 should work, but you’re installing two unsupported releases to get to the current one.
