I have updated the repo so that it builds for kernels 5.x and 6.x. I’ve also
containerized the builds. It uses almalinux:[9|10] containers but this can be
switched to RHEL or ROCKY. The Dockerfile assumes DNF so SLES and Ubuntu need
to adjust as needed.

I have a clean build but I’ve not tested it yet.

Take a look at https://github.com/nealef/fsiucv

This is a character device driver for IUCV other than AF_IUCV. There is a
sample vmevents.c program that uses the driver to capture events.

For RHEL9 Linux on Z is there something analogous to smsgiucv_app so udev
rules can act on *VMEVENT messages similar to how CP SMSG messages create
uevents?

The exposed fields would be Type, Class and Data (which could be null)

Right now I have a companion CMS userid running a pipe starmsg *vmevent and
filtering then sending CP SMSG to the linux machine.

I’d like to move the *VMEVENT listening into the linux machine itself to
eliminate that external dependency.
