Porting Elks to a microcontroller

Hello. I'm planing to port Elks to a AMD 186 microcontroller.

It has 256k Ram & 256k EEprom (that's all). It has no keyboard or display, so the onle possible console is serial.

I will implement a IDE controller, but no DMA will be avalible.

My questions are:

        Is it possible?

        How much work?  

        Where to start?

        Anyone who already have done it?
