You can use RJ-45 cable with the send and recieve wires switched, I've
been told this works but have never tried it.  Also, you can use a coax
cable with terminators on either end and that will work fine.  I did this
to connect my 286 to my linux system, and it worked great.  And yes, I do
have a packet driver and a 3Com network card working fine on the 286.
