A better way to handle this, since obviously he does not know the lists
true reasons for existence, is to say....

Unfortuninatly you are reaching out to the wrong mailing list for help,
my suggestion is to check out www.linux.org or look for a local linux
user group. Either will be effective  resouce to find help. This list is
specificaly for linux-8086, a project that is currently in progress.
