Hi.. perhaps someone has encountered this problem...
I am using a PII400 on a Asus P3B and a (IDE) Seagate ST36421A. Linux is a
RedHat 6.0.
After system bootup (or on heavy hdd access) I get the following error
message a several times:
hda: status timeout: status 0xd0 {busy}
hda: no DRQ after issue WRITE
ide0: reset: success
I know this results from a problem using Ultra DMA data transfer
(disabling it in BIOS solves the problem but that's lets say... somewhat
unsatisfying)
The board supports UDMA mode 2
and the hdd support UDMA mode 4 so that shouldn't not give any problem
Can anyone help?
