Yes :)

The Z80 is basically a souped-up 8080-clone.

The 8088, on the other hand, is an incompatible successor to the 8080.

Only the later has an active ELKS or Linux port that I am aware of.
However, there is at least one UNIX-like OS for the Z80, called UZI.
