Initially if you want to just install binaries you will need the images.zip
file from the latest kernel release. If you want to install more software
you will need the source for the development environment, and the source
for the user programs. See info in the FAQ and on the website for more
details of how to get these. There is no X windows port to ELKS, mostly
because it is too big, but nano-X/microwindows, while still under
development, worked well under ELKS last time I checked.

The serial and parallel drivers both work, but that is about it. No TCP/IP
yet. Getting a terminal emulator to work should be easy, but I don't know
of one that has been ported yet. I have tested hooking up a terminal to the
serial port of an ELKS machine, and that works fine.
