elksemu and Red Hat 6.0

I tried setting up elksemu last night on my Red Hat 6.0 PC to no avail.  It's
running the "canned" 2.2.5-15 kernel.  I insmod'ed binfmt_misc and did the echo
to proc filesystem per the README in the source tree.  When I try to run an
elks binary, I get the error: cannot execute binary file.

What have I missed?
