I can answer yes to both of those questions (seti runs and I only shut down
when the power goes out).
My systems use ATI Rage cards, so the Matrox drivers aren't a factor in my lockups.
The system will lock without X being loaded.
Average uptime is about 3 days.
Go for the FAQ. I'd like to recommend this platform for use at work, but there
is no way I can do this now.
My suspicion: during setup I see that the 12V supply on my system actually
runs about 11.8 11.9. So my current test is to unplug 3 of the SCSI drives,
cease overclocking and let it run. Since the test run began this morning, I'll
start to get hopeful next Tuesday. Though I may get lucifer and do a stress
test over the weekend.
