Getting my system back up and running was a bit of a nightymare switching
cards around but finally came together with my viper 550 in the agp slot and
my adaptec 2940 in the 3rd (middle) pci slot. couldnt really figure which
was 1 and which was 5. think this could be better explained in the docs
because you can assign irqs to pci slots. i put an ixmicro vidcap/tv card in
the slot next to the agp, then a nic, then the 2940, then a diamond mx300. i
left the last one empty because i figured that was 5 and shared with the
mx300. i have another nic in the last isa slot so i can still use one more.
i also have an ls-120 and an atapi dvd on the primary ide and everything
works ok. i actually forget if i have usb enabled because i dont use it with
nt its useless. the best way to do it is start with the video.......add a
second card...try that.add a third.........try that..its frustrating but at
least if u follow me u can backtrack and try another slot when u hit the
wall.
good luck!!

I have tried various setups with my pci cards. I have a video, a Realtek
nic, and a scsi controller that worked in my computer before the upgrade.
But whenever I put the same three cards in together now the system will not
boot. I was mistaken about the beeps, when I put the third card and try to
boot the system I receive no beeps. The system does send a signal to the
monitor but nothing else happens.
I have tried to put the cards in different order to help resolve any
conflicts. It does not matter what three cards I use, the only that does not
change is the video though. Unless the cards are conflicting with the video
card now.
I am a loss about this.
Thanks for any help,
