No. It is not overclocked. It is a 466 and bios settings is 466(66). Turbo

That's what I thought too. That's why I asked.

The drive is  hde: QUANTUM FIREBALL CX20.4A, ATA DISK drive

It used to give messages like "hde: lost interrupt" or "hde: DMA timeout".
I haven't seen theese messages since ( i think ) 2.3.39 or 2.3.40.
