Hello
The UP kernel let's me into the system but the smp kernel
reboots the machine after the cdrom detection. If I unplug the cdrom from
the bus, the system panic's after mouting the proc filesystem (something about
process is swapping). Sorry for the incomplete information but I am very
new to linux systems. Maybe a bios setting, my bunk hardware, i've no
idea. The last few messages are:
PIIX4: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 39
PIIX4: not 100% native mode, will probe irqs
later
ide0: BM-DMA at 0f000-0xf007, BIOS settings: hda:DMA,
hdb:pio
ide1: BM-DMA at 0xf008-0xf00f, BIOS settings: hdc:DMA,
hdd:pio
hda: WDC AC33200L, ATA DISK drive
hdc: ATAPI CDROM, ATAPI CDROM drive
<reboot>
My HW info:
A-Bit bp6 (400(66) X2 celerons not overclocked),
128MB cas2 RAM,
AGP 2x SiS 6326 video card
Thanks,
Donnie Armstrong
