Hi,

I have set my AOPEN 48x UDMA33 cdrom connected to the HPT366 interface,
because the std IDE connectors are used up completely by drives not
supporting UDMA66 either.. Anyways..

This all works well with Win98/2K, but with Linux, when I try to mount
/dev/hde (= CDROM), my computer just locks up immediately. No oops,
no Aieee!, no nothing.

1) What are the correct kernel settings for the HPT366 driver?
2) What are the correct major/minor numbers for the /dev/hd* devices?

I'm using an unstable kernel: 2.3.40, and at boottime the HPT366 gets
recognised and initialised.

I'm really puzzled here.
