I wrote about my configuration in the past. 
I have 2x SCSI disk on NCR53C810
       1x UDMA IDE disk on HPT366.
HPT 366 and NCR share the same interrupt (11).
I tried compile kernel and I copied (400 MB) from SCSI to
IDE disk  and back. No problem.
