Here is some odd behavior. I begin to believe in any kind of ghosts and
evil spirits.
After some time of heavy load, like several hours running 1 or 2
setiathome, lots of compiling or building rpm packages some programs gives
segmentation faults.
A couple of times after lots of recompiling or building rpms, all
sorts of error messages occure from files not edited, like some include
file included from some other file.h,... messages like extra characters on
line... or missing ; or something.
The programs that gives segmentation faults use to be Netscape, Tcl/Tk
progs or Emacs.
After a reboot everything works fine again. No segmentation faults, no
error messages.
Oh, just recalled, I reported once... Sometimes unpacking a kernel can
give error messages like the ones mentioned above. Random characters
are missing in random files. They use to dissapear after a couple of
re-unpackings. I haven't tried to reboot directly after theese erratic
unpacks. ( shall try to remember to do that if it occure again ).
If I don't do anything heavy, just run a few programs everything
seems to be stable with days or weeks of uptime. The trouble starts when
the machine have to work.
