so far -- yes. I have today swapped the BP6 at the vendor and lo/behold
it still works. I must add one thing. The new board also doesn't boot
too well when I use the AGP slot with a 16 MB viper 550.
to me, this indicates that a differnt power supply also would work
better. I don't hear the voltage swings (by the change of fan speed)
when I start stuff like seti. so far, it works OK again. but then, it
did the 1st 3 months to :-)
uptime:
6:39pm up 3:22, 10 users, load average: 4.25, 4.62, 4.34
running 4 seti's. last time I tried, 1 seti killed the system. I
sometimes couldn't even start. sometimes during e2fsck, the system
crashed.
