Surely the microcode updates are stored in the BIOS Flash Prom, the CPU
does not have persistant memory.
Therefore those microcode patches must be resinstalled on power up / cold
reboot.
Otherwise you would get real problems if you added a CPU later, after
flashing BIOS.
Anyone know if the 'voodoo' of clearing the CMOS with the jumper is still
advised?
