Atleast if you do yank one of those CPU's, and you run seti@home, your
packets
will be done a lot faster.  Even if you only run one packet, taking one out
will
lessen the load of the FSB and memory.

My c400 work machine does a packet in around 10 hours, and at home on
my firewall (dual 500's), it takes around 10 hours 45 minutes.
