First, make sure you aren't overclocking.  Once you get it stable,
overclock away.  ;-)

What BIOS are you using?  There are newer BP6 BIOSes that update the
BIOS of the HPT controller as well.  There are also some homebrew
BIOSes on bp6.gamesquad.net, with PIII microcode, no HPT BIOS, 
Symbios SCSI support, etc. etc.

FWIW, I'm using a BIOS QQ_beta, and its solid as a rock.

The middle PCI slot shares an IRQ with the HPT366.  You can change
what IRQ it is, but it will always share.  Try taking any cards you
have out of slot 3.

Lastly, maybe try a production, or a more recent development kernel.

Good luck, BP6 issues are hard to hunt down.  Also, look around on
bp6.gamesquad.net for cooling concerns, the infamous VTT problem,
and the capacitor and voltage regulator fixes.
