Hello,

I was wondering, is there a connection to installing extra memory
and the RU Evaluation Version of the ABIT BP6 BIOS?

A friend of mine, and myself have had severe memory problems and
we both run the RU Eval. BIOS. On my machine, if I take out the
installed memory, and put in new, it will not boot and just
beep four tines: long, short, short, short indicating a problem
with the memorychips. And it will not boot even when I put back
the older installed memory until I removed all other hardware and
step by step putting it all back in...

On my friends computer it will only beep at us when installing
memory on the 3rd bank of the board. Any combination of 2 will
work in the first and second banks...

Another friend of mine (Yeah, 3 friends of mine have BP6'es :]) has
a BP6 also, but he doesn't run RU, he's still with the BIOS the
board came with as far as I know... He can just put in any memory
anywhere on the board and it will most likely boot, unless the memory
chips are crap.

Could there be any connection between RU and installing memory??

But since removing all hardware and putting it all in helped I began
wondering if it really is the memory, or just cards which do not
stay in place properly when pressing and bending the board to put
in the memory. This could explain MY case of not being able to
put in new memory, but what about my friend's 3rd bank not working
problem?? The loose hardware doesn't sound like a logical explanation
for this problem does it?

Regards,
Sander.
