Rekan-rekan saya mengkonfigurasikan Squid 2.4 Stable 1 di Linux Mandrake 8.1 di atas HP Vectra VL 400 (P3 933 Mhz, RAM 124, HDD MAxtor IDE 20 GB). Untuk Squid saya alokasikan 64 MB RAM dan 4 GB HDD. Saya masukkan setting cache peer dengan menggunakan ircache sebagai parent dan options round robin(saya masukkan IP Address bukan hostname. Sayangnya seringkali mereka mati. Ada ide kenapa mereka tidak bisa digunakan. Cuplikan cache.log ada di bawah ini:
