um... surrrre...

Do YOU even think you know what the hell you're talking about?

SP4 was pretty good actually. Perhaps you were smoking a little too much
during those days, eh?

Emacs is a bloated hog...and it's not universally installed...and where
it is installed, which version is it? Is it *really* emacs, or is
it jove? or temacs? or ????

If you do work on a LOT of systems, especially for a large number
of companies, on site...then trying to survive solely on emacs will
kill you.

vi is universally installed, and unchanging.

It all depends on your definition of world-class. If your definition is
'sold in the world', then yes, Windows is world class.

If your definition includes 'performs favourably when compared with others',
then we are going to have a nice big holy war ;)

I don't understand what quality concern they would face. Doesn't most of the
burden for proper support lie on the driver authors, many of which are working
for the hardware makers? Are they admitting they can't even develop a quality
driver API or underlying framework?

First you say it _IS_ and when called on it, now you say it _WAS_

NT used to have a 2GB file limit: doesn't anymore

Linux used to have a 2GB file limit: doesn't anymore.
