After saving up and considering for quite a while I'm ready to buy a basic
Alpha system (case, motherboard, cpu, ram. I've already got everything else) to
replace my K6, which I plan on giving to my mom.

But after talking to DCG and Aspen it seems that the LX motherboards are in
very short supply thanks to some DEC/Intel politics. DCG says they don't even
have one to sell me and Aspen said that can get me one by the beginning of
December, although it's at an inflated price.

Can anyone recommend another good performance motherboard that is known to run
Linux well and a vendor that sells it? I'm willing to pay a little more for
better hardware.

Don't point me to the $99 UDB on ebay. :) I've already owned a couple and need
something MUCH faster. DCG says the UX(?) motherboards will probably be running
Linux well sometime early next year but that sort of delay would kinda screw up
my plans.
