Hi!

I'm getting many segfaults and signal 11-errors with 2.3.42 + Richard
Henderson's axp-patches, especially compiling large programs such as gcc
or glibc. I've tried to blame it on memory (yes, I know what signal
11 usually means, bought new mem today, 160 Euro for 128 MB, ouch!) but
now I've tried under 2.2.11 and there are NO such errors AT ALL.
2.3.42-pre5 doesn't boot over here (hangs after unpacking the kernel), so
I couldn't try it.

Can anybody confirm this?

My configuration:
sx164-mobo w/533 MHz Alpha-21164, 128 MB PC-100 SDRAM (bought today, as
mentioned above as a replacement for my possibly perfectly working memory)
gcc 2.95.2 (yeah, I know)
binutils 2.95

If you need more info (or possibly an account on my machine) please get
back to me.

ciao
olli
