=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hello!

I am pleased to announce SyncBuilder 19990105.

The SyncBuilder framework allows you to develop Java applications that
synchronize data between a host and 3COM PalmPilots. It is based on the
popular pilot-link package which is a language independent Unix library
for the same purpose. SyncBuilder is stronger when it comes to code reuse
and the ability to synchronize many devices simultaneously across a
network.

To download SyncBuilder go to:
http://come.to/SyncBuilder

SyncBuilder comes with complete source-code and is licensed under the
LGPL. It has been developed under RH 5.0 with JDK 1.1.6, but should also
work on other Java capable platforms.
Contributions are welcome!

Sincerely,
Tilo Christ

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Hello all,

This is to announce the formation of a Linux Users Group for Kingston,
Ontario, Canada and the surrounding area. If anyone out there is
interested in joining our band of merry men, please contact me by either
emailing me directly or by responding to this post.

For the foreseeable future the KLUG will continue to use the
kingston.os.linux newsgroup and email for communications. Please monitor
that newsgroup for more information. At some point in the future, when
membership increases, a mailing list may be set up to simplify
communications.

Mark

Subject: SFI Director - New GPL System Management Tool for UNIX
Date: Sun, 10 Jan 1999 00:39:54 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

The SFI Director is a tool for managing distributed, hetergeneous UNIX
Systems. Its functionality includes System Configuration, Application
Distribution, NIS & NIS+ Management, and User Management and Dynamic System
Documentation. Currently in Version 3, it is in service at a number of
customer sites, to manage networks of 50 to 200+ UNIX nodes, under Solaris,
Digital UNIX, HP-UX, Red Hat and SuSE Linux.

Version 3.0 introduces a new distribution Algorithm, which substantially
improves the flexibility, reliability and documentability of the
distribution process. Furthermore, an install script is available which
substantially simplifies the installation under Red Hat Linux 5.2 as well
as Solaris 2.5.1, HP-UX 10.01 and SuSE Linux 5.3.

To everyone who tries it out: Enjoy! We look forward to you comments and
contributions.

Subject: POC v2 - translate Objective-C to Smalltalk-80
Date: Thu,  7 Jan 1999 01:27:53 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

The Portable Object Compiler (POC) is a set of Objective-C libraries and
an Objective-C to C translator (generates plain C code).

New, in version 2, is that the C code-generation independent parts of the
translator have been reused for an option (-st80) to generate Smalltalk-80
code instead of (or in addition to) C.

The program is available from Sunsite mirrors such as
ftp://ftp.uni-rostock.de/Linux/sunsite/devel/lang/objc/

(it consists of two packages; you have to start with the bootstrap
package, as indicated in the .LSM file)
