- - LivePage Unveils LivePage Enterprise for Linux Beta Program -
First Unix beta now available on LivePage web site with more Unix
versions under development

Waterloo, March 18, 1999 - LivePage Corporation today announced the
opening of the beta test program for the Linux version of LivePage
Enterprise, its flagship content-base management system. This new
version will enable deployment of LivePage ContentServer on the rapidly
expanding installed-base of Linux web servers. LivePage Enterprise now
allows users to leverage the functionality, performance and value of the
Linux platform.

"We intend to provide support for a comprehensive range of UNIX server
platforms in addition to our current Windows-NT offerings," said Dave
Boswell, president and CEO of LivePage Corporation. "The next step will
be the delivery of the Solaris version of LivePage Enterprise in
beta-test, which we expect in the first half of this year."

Content-Base Management System

LivePage Enterprise 2.0 delivers multi-user, collaborative management
for content including XML, SGML and HTML, as well as digital media such
as graphics. LivePage separates management of content and presentation
style, enabling personalization (presentation style based on user
attributes) and supporting the use of standard tools and storage formats
(XML, SGML) for content. The server applies presentation style and
end-user features such as navigation, advanced searching, dynamic site
map, "what's new" capability, and table of contents. The LivePage
Manager provides graphical drag-and-drop management of the content base
as well as capabilities such as import/export, automatic indexing and
hyperlink generation. Importantly, LivePage Manager provides the
capability for seamless integration with content authoring tools.
LivePage stores web content in an RDBMS, delivering the data integrity,
scalability, security, replicability and concurrency control required
for business critical web sites.

Information about joining the LivePage Enterprise for Linux beta program
can be found at http://www.livepage.com/lpdocs/livepage/BetaCSLinux.htm.

LivePage Corporation

LivePage Corporation provides software designed to increase the
productivity and reduce the total cost of ownership relating to
corporate intranets and Internet web sites. LivePage Corporation's
flagship product, LivePage Enterprise, is a system for web content
management and delivery of web content with personalization. LivePage
Enterprise is designed to address the needs of customers with large,
rapidly-growing and rapidly-changing web sites (for example, information
portals). We deliver collaborative content management and flexible
presentation style including personalization capabilities.

LivePage Corporation is located at 158 University Avenue West in
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Additional information is available through

Subject: prototype Makefiles - sharing Makefiles between projects
Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 21:51:43 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

This is the _first_ public release of prototype-1.0.

What: Ready to use Makefiles, no editting needed,
in a single place (for all your projects).

Advantage: Bug fixing and extending Makefiles: Only
           in one place.
This package can also me used by newbies
and advanced users as an example, to LEARN
from; how to write Makefiles with GNU make.

Reason for release:
I will use this package for my
own projects (yet to be released).

[From README file]
The following targets are fully automatically supported:

make [all] : Builds the whole project, works from every
                        (sub) directory.
make build : Builds the current directory (and everything in
it, except test directories). By default, only
shared libraries will be build (not static).
make clean : Clear executables, compiled libraries, object
files
                        and dependency information.
make depend : Create dependency information (is also updated
                        automatically when needed).
make real-clean : Uses `find' to make 100% sure you end up with
                        a clean tree.
make static : In a 'lib' directory: Build and link static
                        library only.

The common target `make install' needs to be added manually to the
base Makefile.

Title: prototype
Version: 1.0
Entered-date: 1999-03-15
Description: Prototype Makefiles is a collection of shared Makefiles
which are
installed globally and Makefile templates that can be
copied into
project directories using a simple script. The shared
Makefiles
contain the rules for building a project, cleaning it and
making
dependencies etc. The Makefile templates contain the data
that
is specific for each project. This seperation avoids
duplication
of code in Makefiles and is therefore extremely easy to
maintain
             and extend.
Keywords: prototype make Makefiles C++ projects sharing reuse
