=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

robolog-0.6.1 is out
====================

The robolog package provides access to the RoboCup simulation league soccer
server (see [2] for details).

This version is ready for Soccer Server 5.xx series and Y2K compliant.

RoboLog contains two libraries, a C/C++ library and a library for
ECLiPSe-Prolog [3] built on top of that.

NEWS for robolog-0.6.1
May, 05 1999

  * License Change - RoboLog is now GPL'ed (not LGPL).
  * improved the Soccer Server Version 5 support ("self" now reports both
neck angle and the body angle).
  * Added functions for recording logfiles and connecting to a view server.
  * Improved the signal handling, i.e. robolog now works with 100ms
    sense_body_step without problems.
  * 8 new geometric functions and tests.
  * Added RoboLog debugging stuff and removed (almost) all iostream output,
since ECLiPSe-Prolog seems to use stdio output.
  * the Prolog-Manual is almost up-to-date. Too bad, there is still no
    C-Manual.
  * started to use parts of the CMU stuff and a GNU-Prolog interface
    (doesn't work).
  * more bugfixes.

Have fun
        Oliver

                    Eridani Star System announces:

Eridani CDROM with Red Hat 6.0 -----> UKP 3.00 each.

Eridani CDROM with Red Hat 5.2 -----> UKP 3.00 each.

         Linux-Mandrake 5.3 ------> UKP 3.00 each.

These CDROMs include an El Torito boot record, which, on supported hardware
make them bootable.

The Red Hat CDs are made to order, and as such, will have all the Red Hat
updates to that time on the CD. Rather than having them in a separate
updates directory, we have opted to make them part of the install, so you
automatically have an up-to-date Linux system.

A large amount of extra software has been included on the CDROM, including
Corel WordPerfect (downloadable version) and Sun JDK 1.1.7 (for the
programmers out there).

A second CD is available, which contains all the source code. Red Hat
Linux is just too big now to have all the binaries and sources on the one
CD. This CD is also available, also for UKP 3.00.

For more information, and how to order, please visit the web page at:

        http://www.amush.cx/linux/

International orders accepted, but due to the cost of bank charges and
international mail, the prices will be slightly higher.

Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards. Cash (Pounds sterling preferred!)
and cheques drawn on a UK bank. International bank transfers accepted,
however subject to a UKP 2.00 charge due to bank charges. There is a
UKP 1.50 charge for postage and packaging within the UK, variable for
international customers.

From: Dan Eble <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: TI-89/92 FTP Proxy 1.0 beta
Date: Sun, 9 May 1999 10:09:28 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Yes, now you can transfer variables between your computer and TI-89, 92,
or 92+ using standard FTP commands.

It's available at
   http://www.ticalc.org/pub/unix/ftpd89-1.0b.tar.gz
   or
   ftp//www.ticalc.org/pub/unix/ftpd89-1.0b.tar.gz

Here's the README:

OVERVIEW
- --------
There are two programs, the FTP proxy (in.ftpd89) and the Graph-Link
serial port setup program (set_tigl).

This is release 1.0 beta. It's known to work on my system, which
consists of a TI-89, Red Hat Linux 6.0, and a TI Graph-Link cable.

The proxy *should* work with David Ellsworth's /dev/ti module, but I
haven't tested it. It should also work with with a TI-92, although
I don't know how it will cope with a TI-92+. If there are any issues
to resolve, please email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please include a
thorough description of your setup and the problems you encounter.

FEATURES
- --------
In addition to transferring standard variables, you can also read
"/screen" for a screenshot and "/cert" for what I think may be the
software certificate. I hope to add "/backup" and "/prod" for backup
and product code transfers. (I have had no luck with backups, and I
don't feel comfortable with the possibility of mucking up my ROM yet.)

Variables must be transferred in binary mode, with the exception of
picture, text, and string variables. They may be retrieved in ASCII
mode, but must still be stored in text mode.

The calculator turns on automatically and is turned off when a
transfer completes (most of the time).

To get some information about the calculator, issue a "SITE PING"
command. (Actually, the ping doesn't matter, but it may in the
future.)

CONFIGURATION
- -------------
There are several compilation options in "config.h". These are the
important ones:

SHADOW_PASSWORDS If your system is setup to use shadow
passwords, define this. If not, comment
                           it out.

SYSLOG If your system uses syslog, define this.
If it does not, or if you do not want to
log informational messages like "xxx has
                           logged in", comment it out.

ANONFTP If you want to allow logins by the names
                           "anonymous" and "ftp", define this,
                           otherwise comment it out.

There are other options. Check them out if you want.

INSTALLATION
- ------------
1. Build the program(s).
        For in.ftpd89, type "make".
        For set_tigl, type "gcc -o set_tigl set_tigl.c".

2. Copy the files somewhere.
        cp in.ftpd89 /usr/local/sbin/
        cp set_tigl /usr/local/bin/

3. Make sure /dev/ti is linked to whatever device you are using.

4. Alter /etc/inetd.conf. Here's an example (I have TCP wrappers
installed). "dos" is listed in /etc/services as port 7000.
Use what you like. Running the program as root is important
because it needs to access the password files.

dos stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/sbin/in.ftpd89

5. Make sure /etc/hosts.allow and hosts.deny are set sensibly.

6. Restart inetd.

SECURITY ISSUES
- ---------------
Once a user logs in, in.ftpd89 changes its UID and GID to that of the
user. For anonymous login, the user "ftp" must exist. "root" is not
allowed to log in.

/dev/ti does not have to be globally accessible. Because the program
starts running as root it will have no problem opening the device.

Other than using /dev/ti and the password files, no file access is
done.

gets() is nowhere to be found. strncpy() and memcpy() are used
where buffer overruns might be an issue.

Stores and retrieves are not allowed via anonymous ftp.

OTHER ISSUES
- ------------
If you use a Graph-Link, you should run set_tigl once when you boot
your system to set the serial communication parameters.

/dev/ti is locked while a calc-to-computer transfer is occurring.

I'm not too fond of using a full unix-style directory listing, but I
did it for the benefit of web browsers and fancy FTP clients.
<RANT>
Those that don't know how to display data when the server type is
"UNKNOWN" choke instead of just passing it through the way RFC 959
says they should. They also don't seem to know about NLST. Can we
really expect Microsoft and Netscape to read (let alone follow)
standards? Then there's ncftp which uses the nonstandard "NLST -CF"
expecting to get a reply in multicolumn format with decorated names
and flips out when it gets a "not found" reply. Even Lynx doesn't
know enough to expect that the output of LIST is more than just file
 names.
</RANT>

THE CODE (a strange mischmasch of C and C++)
- --------
main.cpp Performs setup; implements USER, PASS, NOOP, and QUIT.
ftp.cpp Implements all other ftp commands.
ti89util.cpp Implements lots of functions for talking to the calc.
Packet.* Implements the calculator transmission protocol.
Var.h Defines a struct for var information. Not very clean.

Tux the Penguin - A Quest for Herring.

This the first public beta of Tux-AQFH. This is a
3D game starring that damned Penguin. You'll need a
Mesa/OpenGL-based 3D accellerator and a 133MHz CPU
or better to get playable frame rates.

Tux-AQFH is OpenSourced under GPL.

  http://www.woodsoup.org/projs/tux_aqfh

What's there right now contains two playable levels
and some others that are 'work in progress'.
