HI!

I want to announce a new version of ldap-client-cgi.py, a
WWW-LDAP-Gateway written in Python (you might have guessed it).

It's available for free (GPL) from

  http://sites.inka.de/ms/python/ldap-client-cgi/

There's also a working demo there.

I would like to encourage people to give feedback about the usability
of this program.

Ciao, Michael.

Changes since 0.4.2
- - some bug fixes
- - more complete and slightly faster character conversion

Hi!

I've written a small program for myself, and I think it might be
useful for all of you as it is for me.

It is called except, and has the same function as its homonym in 4DOS.
It is useful if you need to perform operations on files, but without
affecting some of them.
For example, if you want to remove all the files in a directory, except
the .c and .h ones, you can do it with :
        except [ *.c *.h ] rm -f *

There are many other applications.

"Except" is available to http://wwwetu.utc.fr/~defayeje, in .RPM or
tarball.
You will find it in both French and English versions.

Let me know if you use it...

Bye.

Subject: Gsh 0.1.3 - graphical shell
Date: Sun,  5 Sep 1999 14:12:44 GMT

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====

Version 0.1.3 of Gsh has been released.

Gsh is available at http://personal.atl.bellsouth.net/atl/v/c/vcato/gsh/

Some of the new features over Gsh 0.1.2 include:

  * Multiple screen support.
  * Improved filename completion handling.
  * Configurable completions.

  Gsh is designed to do two things:
   1) be a comfortable environment for people who are already accustomed
to using a Unix shell.
   2) make operations that are difficult or awkward with a normal shell
easier by having the shell take advantage of a graphical environment.

Some of the features include:

  * context menu giving commands based on the selected text.
  * user confurable menu for commonly used commands.
  * compact mode for using Gsh as a program launcher.
  * multiple independent screens and a screen bar for switching between
them.
  * separate colors for output, running commands, completed commands,
etc.
  * configurable completions.

Gsh is being developed under Linux, but has also been tested to some
extent under Irix. I am interested in making it usable under any
Unix-like system. Gsh requires Tcl 8.0 or higher to run and is
distributed under the GPL.

All comments, suggestions, and bug reports are welcome. Send them to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've just released Parrot-0.2.0 on my website.

Parrot is a text-based GUI builder. To use it, you edit a text file
which defines what your GUI application will look like, then you
invoke Parrot from the command line; Parrot's output is source code
which when run will display the GUI application.

Currently Parrot produces Python source code for the Tkinter GUI
toolkit; other backends are planned.

Parrot is currently pre-alpha software, so don't expect it to
be particularly useful yet (or even useful at all).

Parrot's homepage is:
   http://www.vision25.demon.co.uk/prog/parrot.html

Parrot is written in Python and licenced under the GNU GPL.
