Is there anything that will run under Linux that will simulate and/or
replace most of the functions of Exchange Server on NT? (before
thhate-mail starts) I'm looking to replace my NT server (only useful for
Exchange Server right now) with Linux if there is such an animal as
Exchange for Unix.
Specifically, I could careless about the emails going into and out of the
building (sendmail can take care of that), I'm looking for the
collaboration features of shared Calendars, discussion groups (non-news
group if possible), read/unread email staying up on the server, but the
client, hopefully Outlook konwing which was read and which is still to be
read. Also, linking of this server with an NT Exchange server across
country. It will have to support global addressbooks for internal users
(just type the human-name (not login id) of a user to email them, without
it being in their local addressbook).
If there is no such animal, does anyone have the specifications that will
allow me to write such a server?
