My first Linux box was a 386DX20 with 4MB then 8MB ram and two
50 MB RLL drives - yes it was slow, overnight kernel compiles :-( but
utterly reliable. This was back in the 0.99 pl13 days. I even ran JNOS on
the machine and it worked reasonably well.
The next box was a 386DX40/8MB with 500MB of scsi running 1.0.9, after
that a 486DX with the same 500MB that is still running today (currently
1.2.13). Would anybody care to comment on the number of turns that the
Fujitsu 2614 (?) HDD has made since October 1993?
