When I run less in a color_xterm on my system the display ends up getting inverted (ie reverse video) and fonts become underlined at various places. And the fonts stay that way after less exits. This is a real pain when using man pages because all the formatting becomes unreadable. It appears that the codes which turn on / off the underline, bold and reverse video fonts are being confused. I believe the main source of the problem is the less prompt because when I change it from it's default (reverse video displaying lines/percentage) to ':' I don't get some of the problems. In this case the font typically stays underlined after less terminates but not reverse video. Normal (ie monochrome) xterm does not suffer from this problem.
