Use StarOffice 5.1 with RH6.0, it's mentioned on the redhat "errata"

Not so weird, that's exactly correct.

Suprise suprise.
RH6.0 uses glibc2.1, and programs linked against glibc2.0 (ie, RH5.x)
can't use glibc2.1.
